Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen (The Blue City)

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel or the Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport. We will start our Morocco tour from Casablanca by visiting the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims for guided tours.

Afterward, we drive to Rabat, the capital city. Here, you will visit  the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the Hassan Tower. Following lunch, we continue our journey through the Rif Mountains to arrive at Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City. Check into your riad and enjoy a peaceful evening in this magical blue-washed town.

Accommodation: Charming Riad in Chefchaouen

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Fes

After a leisurely breakfast exploring the blue streets of Chefchaouen, we head south. Our first stop is the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a fascinating glimpse into Morocco’s Roman past, featuring stunning mosaic floors and towering columns.

We continue to Meknes, a UNESCO-listed imperial city, to see the grand Bab Mansour gate. Finally, we drive to Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco, where you will check into your riad for the next two nights.

Accommodation: Traditional Riad in Fes

Day 3: Fes City Tour (Guided Cultural Exploration)

Today is dedicated to exploring the oldest medieval city in the world. With a local licensed guide, you will dive deep into the Fes Medina (Fes El Bali) . You will visit the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) , and the famous Chouara Tannery, where leather has been dyed the same way for centuries.

We will also visit the Al-Attarine Madrasa and the Al-Qarawiyyin University, considered the oldest existing, continually operating educational institution in the world. It is a day for sensory overload in the best possible way—the smells of spices, the sounds of the call to prayer, and the sight of intricate Moroccan craftsmanship.

Accommodation: Traditional Riad in Fes

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Today marks the beginning of the desert adventure on this Casablanca desert tour segment. We leave Fes and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before continuing to the cedar forests of Azrou to see the Barbary apes.

We cross the Tizi N’Talghamt pass to reach Midelt for lunch. The landscape changes dramatically as we descend into the Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves. By the afternoon, we arrive at the golden dunes of Merzouga. Here, you will mount a camel and trek across the desert to a luxury desert camp. Watch the sunset over the dunes, enjoy a traditional Berber drum circle, and sleep in Luxury Desert Camp.

Accommodation: Luxury Desert Camp (Merzouga Erg Chebbi Dunes)

Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the Sahara dunes—a moment you will never forget. After a camel ride back to the village and a refreshing shower, we drive towards the Todra Gorge.

The Todra Gorge is a canyon of towering limestone cliffs, a haven for rock climbers and nature lovers. We take a walk along the river before heading to Boumalne Dades to explore the Dades Valley. Known as the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” the scenery here is spectacular, with winding roads and rock formations shaped like “monkey fingers.”

Accommodation: Hotel/Riad in Dades Valley

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, we travel through the Valley of the Roses, famous for its annual Rose Festival, and the Skoura Oasis. Our main stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. This iconic fortified village (Ksar) is the most famous kasbah in Morocco, featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

We cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 meters). The winding roads offer stunning views of mountain villages and valleys. We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Accommodation: Boutique Riad in Marrakech

Day 7: Marrakech City Tour

Welcome to the “Red City.” Today, we explore Marrakech with a local guide. You will visit the Koutoubia Mosque (the city’s landmark), the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. We will wander through the vibrant souks and the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, which transforms into a lively open-air theater of storytellers, musicians, and food stalls in the evening.

This city tour complements your Casablanca imperial city tour 9 days experience, contrasting the imperial history of Fes and Rabat with the vibrant energy of Marrakech.
