Morocco is a country full of contrasts—where the Atlantic Ocean meets vast deserts, and ancient cities blend with breathtaking mountain landscapes. This 5 Days Authentic Morocco Itinerary is perfect if you want to experience the real essence of Morocco without feeling rushed.
Over five days, you’ll travel through imperial cities like Rabat, Fes, and Marrakech, cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, explore lush valleys, and spend a magical night in the Sahara Desert under a sky full of stars.
This itinerary, designed by Rachid Morocco Tours, focuses on authentic experiences, cultural immersion, and comfortable travel—so you can truly connect with the country.
Your journey begins in Casablanca, where you’ll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, set right by the ocean. From there, you’ll head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Here, you can explore the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and stroll through the charming Kasbah of the Udayas with its blue-and-white streets overlooking the Atlantic. By evening, you’ll arrive in Fes and settle into a traditional riad in the heart of the old medina.
Today is all about diving into the culture and history of Fes. With a local guide (optional), you’ll explore the maze-like streets of Fes el-Bali, one of the oldest medinas in the world. You’ll visit the famous Chouara Tannery, historic madrasas, and artisan workshops. Don’t miss the panoramic view from Borj Sud—it’s one of the best spots to see the entire city. Enjoy a relaxed evening with time for shopping or simply soaking in the atmosphere.
Leaving Fes, you’ll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop is Ifrane, a clean and quiet town often compared to Switzerland. Next, pass through the cedar forests of Azrou, where you might spot Barbary apes. After a lunch break in Midelt, continue your journey through the beautiful Ziz Valley, filled with endless palm trees. By late afternoon, you’ll reach Merzouga. From here, your desert adventure begins—ride a camel across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and watch the sunset over the Sahara. Spend the night in a desert camp, enjoying traditional food, music, and a sky full of stars.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes—an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, travel to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls create a dramatic natural setting. Take some time to walk along the river and enjoy the fresh air. Later, continue to the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and traditional Berber villages. You’ll spend the night in a cozy hotel overlooking the valley.
On your final day, drive along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to reach Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed village that has appeared in many films and TV shows. Then, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with plenty of stops for photos along the way. You’ll arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where your 5-day journey comes to an end.
