Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazat – Dades Valley

Your desert trip from Marrakech itinerary 5 days begins as we leave the city and cross the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass. Our first major stop is the world-famous Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient fortified city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has been the backdrop for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
After exploring, we continue to Ouarzazat (the Hollywood of Africa) before winding our way through the Dades Valley. Here, you will see the impressive “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. You will spend the night in a traditional hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorge – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

After breakfast, we drive towards Toudra Gourge. The towering limestone cliffs, reaching up to 300 meters high, are a paradise for hikers and climbers. Walking along the river at the bottom of the gorge is a refreshing experience. We then continue our journey to Merzouga. Upon arrival, you will swap your 4×4 for a dromedary (camel) and trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes to witness a breathtaking sunset. You will spend the night in a luxury desert camp, listening to the music of the Nomad people under a blanket of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Zagoura

Wake up early to capture the sunrise over the dunes—a memory that will last a lifetime. After a camel ride back to the village, we shower and head south. We pass through Rissani, known for its bustling souk and fossil sites. As we drive, the landscape changes dramatically as we enter the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river. The valley is lush with palm groves and ancient Kasbahs. Our destination tonight is Zagoura, the town famous for the sign that reads “Timbuktu 52 Days.”

Day 4 : Experience the Nomad Way

One of the highlights of any Morocco 5 Day From Marrakech Tour is the encounter with the indigenous Nomad people in the desert regions. These resilient souls live much as they have for centuries, herding goats and moving with the seasons. Visiting their caves or tents offers a humbling glimpse into a life of simplicity and hospitality.

Day 5: Zagoura – Ouarzazat – Marrakech

We begin the journey back, but the adventure isn’t over yet. We drive through the stunning Draa Valley, stopping to see the beautiful Tamnougalte Kasbah and the salt mines. We cross the mountains back to Ouarzazat for a lunch stop before continuing the winding road back to Marrakech. You will arrive in the evening, filled with sand and memories.
